IntShoWriMo 2014 Daily Prompts
Day 4 Prompts:
You are watering your
plants, when you hear a voice whispering your name. There is no one around. —WDC
Describe what you feel
right now using your sense of smell. If you feel frustrated, write about what
your frustration smells like. Use vivid words. Don`t skimp on adjectives.—CWP
The
department store elevator shuts down on the way to the fourth floor, with you
and ten other people in it. You remain calm, but other people begin to panic.
Write this scene and the dialogue between characters.—WD
Seemingly random occurrences can often drive plot
forward. Of course, the author curates these random acts—the accidental
encounter, the winning lottery ticket. This week, try introducing an element of
chance into a story whose plot you've struggled with. It can be as small as a
coin toss, or an unexpected event that changes your protagonist’s plans. Be
open to wherever it takes you.—P&W
